FAQs for Test Users (Candidates)

Test Preparation
Candidate Testing Process
- You will receive a test link from the person who purchased the test. Click the test link to enter the testing platform.
- Create a login.
- Read and accept the privacy policy and enter your details.
- Select Start Now on the test you’d like to complete.
- Read the introduction pages carefully.
- You will be asked to give permission for your webcam, the test cannot begin without this access.
- You will be asked to take a reference image with your webcam for the Proctoring report.
- Fill in your Biodata.
- Take note of the Progress Bar instructions – this allows you to navigate the test questions.
- You will be given some example questions. The correct/incorrect answers will be identified in the examples, but you will receive no marks for these. Answers will not be shown in the real test.
- Ensure you will not be disturbed and begin the test.
- Navigate through the questions. You can flag or skip questions as you go, you will have an opportunity to review these at the end of the test as long as there is time left on the clock.
- Once you have completed the test and reviewed your answers, submit your test.
- Your answers will be compiled into a report and sent to the person who issued you the test.
Can I study for the test?
Study isn’t necessary as skills tests measure a snapshot of where your technical skills are right now & where an employer should concentrate training/coaching if they hire you.
Can I see some example questions?
You can find example questions on each test’s product page. These questions will also appear as practice questions at the beginning of each test to get you comfortable with the layout & navigation before starting.
Sitting the Test
I have been sent a test link, how do I sit the test?
When you are ready to sit your test, click the test link in the email. This will take you to the testing platform. You will be asked to create an account and login. Once logged in you will see your test listed under ‘Your Assignments’. Click on the test tile to begin your test.
What if I have multiple tests to complete?
If you are completing multiple tests you can pause between each test. You will see multiple test links listed in the email sent to you. Click any one of these links to be taken to the testing platform. You will be asked to create an account and login. Once logged in you will see your test listed under ‘Your Assignments’. Click on the test tile to begin your test. Once completed, you will be asked to sign out before exiting the browser. Please sign out and return to the email to select the next test link. Follow this process until you have completed all of your tests.
Can I pause the test?
Once started the test cannot be paused – you must complete it at one uninterrupted session. If you exit before the end of the test, your answers up to that point will be compiled into a report and sent to the person who issued you the test.
When you start the test be conscious of the time – you’ll have one minute per question, so if you’re struggling with a question ‘flag’ it and move on. You can easily come back to the flagged questions later.
What do I do if the test crashes?
If you have technical issues during the test, or the test crashes, please notify the person that issued you the test. Include a description of the error, which browser and device you were using, and which test you were completing.
Proctoring
What is Proctoring?
Proctoring is an AI driven function that uses your webcam before and during the test, to identify the person sitting the test. This is to ensure the test is completed without cheating. Please note – no one is remotely watching you, the proctoring is run by AI. Any attempts to use additional browsers, have another person sit or help with test, or leave the test environment, will be flagged in a report and provided to test purchaser.

Do I have to allow webcam access for proctoring?
If you have agreed with the issuer of the test that proctoring is not necessary, please ask them for instructions on how to proceed.
What if I don’t have a webcam?
You must have a webcam and allow access to complete a test, due to the proctoring requirements. If you do not have a webcam please notify the person who issued you the test.
How is my privacy protected?
A Privacy Statement is given at the start of the test, and candidate acceptance of the terms is required to begin the test. The testing platform is covered by GDPR rules and the provider is ISO 27001 compliant.
Your personal details, test scores, and proctoring reports are securely stored within the testing platform and are only used for hiring or professional development purposes. Only the person who issued you the test, and on occasion Accountests staff, can access them. All details and reports are permanently deleted from the platform after 6 months.
Results
Can I get my test results?
Please contact the person who issued you this test to access your results. We are not able to provide results directly to candidates. Note - reports do not include direct questions or answers from the test.
